1. The service
ScamGuard provides AI-powered scam detection, a community scam database, Subscription Shield, Gmail Shield, and a WhatsApp scam-checking bot. Some features are free; others require credits or a paid subscription.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use ScamGuard. By using the service you confirm you meet that requirement.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for abuse, fraud or attacks against the service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content that contains third-party personal data without lawful basis.
- Use ScamGuard to harass, defame or doxx individuals.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or attempt to bypass rate limits.
- Resell verdicts as a paid security service without an enterprise agreement.
- Use the service to commit or facilitate fraud.
5. Credits and payments
Paid features are usage-based (credits) or subscription-based. Payments are processed by third-party providers. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your account settings.
6. AI outputs and "no guarantee" disclaimer
ScamGuard verdicts are produced by AI models combined with community and open-source data. They are decision-support, not a guarantee. A "low risk" verdict does not mean a website, profile or message is safe, and a "high risk" verdict is not a legal finding of fraud. You remain responsible for your own decisions.
7. Intellectual property
The ScamGuard name, brand, software, models and aggregated database are owned by ScamGuard. Public scam reports may be reused by others under fair-use principles with attribution to ScamGuard.
8. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant ScamGuard a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process and analyse your submissions for the purpose of delivering the service and improving detection. Where you choose to publish a report publicly, you grant a licence to display it on ScamGuard.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScamGuard is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on a verdict. Total liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid ScamGuard in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using ScamGuard at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect the service.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new last-updated date.
